Good things are happening.
First we're finally seeing some actual movement in
My Future Living Space. Due to work, procrastination, lack of funds, etc we hadn't really done much to the new house. Finally we've saved a good chunk of money that can hopefully go to a new roof. That's the first thing that desperately needs to be done.
Also, the trash cans seemed to have disappeared. We called the city, who claim there is no record of trash cans there and in order to get some sent we have to turn the power on. I'm going to be calling the DWP tomorrow to try and schedule that for Friday. We'll be there Friday regardless to clean up, we still haven't gutted it and pulled up the carpet in the bedroom. If the power gets turned on, we'll also be able to weed a lot of the front. We may even get to chop down that damned bush.
I had been worrying because the little back room was suppose to be my library, but a dryer (that we had) and a washer (that we wanted) side-by-side would take up most of the room; making it basically a laundry/storage room. First world problems right? Then Eric's friend mentioned that she's getting replacing her old washer/dryer (one on top of the other), and said we could take it. So that's fucking fantastic! Now we have a lonely dryer on our hands that we're going to try to sell, if not donate for a tax write-off. If you know anyone interested...
Other good things:
I had been making a whole load of Steampunk(ish) earrings as Christmas gifts and bragging about them on Twitter, which sparked a bit of interested. A couple of followers were interested in the earrings, so I made a few extra to send out to them. As well as one Instagram follower who asked if she could purchase a couple of earrings. This has basically inspired me to open up a small Etsy shop to sell steampunk(ish) earrings, jewerly and maybe I can convince my dad to make a couple of those Nerf-mods to sell. I figure that once I get a load of Yoga mat straps knitted, which will be awhile, I can try to sell them on Etsy as well as to local Yoga centers.
The earrings I'm expecting to sell between $15-$22 depending on the intricacy. I'm still undecided with the straps, although I'm sure they'll be cheaper online. I've seen only one other seller on Etsy selling hand crocheted straps, but they're much smaller and non-adjustable, for $8. Considering that, I might put mine between $10-$15.
