Things, used such as the universal word for whatever was going on in one's life at any given point, were okay. Okay was good. Somewhat boring, but it was better than bad. In a way, Seth resented this place for bringing characters to life. It ruined his perspective on the universe as a whole. When you read something, you become engrossed with a character, with their ups and downs, and you end up rooting for them, even the villains. Seth found that meeting them was just wrong. As many times as he'd wished he could meet cool characters from the books, he now just wished most of them would disappear.
There were those he liked, like Pepper and Peter. Maybe it was something with P names, who knew? The point was, he'd rather view Lara Croft as more of a 2 D action icon. Now he found it difficult to concentrate on reading things about people he now spoke to and regarded as more human than fantasy.
Along the book shelf in the rec room, Seth pursed his lips. He willed the shelf, silently, to give him something he hadn't already read. Mark Twain appeared to be the best choice, something he hadn't picked up since he was little. Who didn't like Tom Sawyer anyway? It was classic, and Tom wasn't on the island. Yet.
