I am worth $130

Nebraskon was this weekend (all 5 pics to come tomorrow or whever I can get them off dad's computer). It went really well. I dressed up as Amy Sorel for the dating auction and ended up being sold for $130. I was the most expensive purchase!

I went up there and the bidding was pretty normal until like $20. Around that point, it became a bidding war between two guys, until somewhere around $50. The MC realized they were going to duke it out, so he was like "What's your max bid?"

One guy said $100, which totally floored me. I was shocked when the con chair went for like $80, and at least if you won her, she covered your dinner and you got to eat with the guests. Well, the bidding continued between the two until $130. The guy who won me was really nice and we hung out until around 8:00pm (auction started at 11am), which at that point I really wanted to get into some normal clothes to see the concert. Oh and my date said he picked me because of how detailed the costume was. That made me really happy. I was really shocked on some of the pricing of people. There was a pretty good looking guy that I didn't know what he was from but he was shirtless with a symbol painted on him and armor plating down one arm. I thought he should've gone for a good chunk of money but he ended up less than $20 if I remember right. There were also two girls who were in fairly skimp outfits (one was Rikku and the other's top consisted of a bra, and you could see her lacy red thong when she turned around). I totally thought they would've been fought over, but I guess I don't give fanboys enough credit? Every once and a while for the rest of the day people would congratulate me on the price tag or even today when someone asked me what I was yesterday, there was a "so you're the one" moment. Nice little self esteem boost.

I earned my attendance sticker for the "The 80s called they want their anime back" panel. The panel consisted of audience members listing 80s anime and then the staff would list a current anime or whatever that sort of stole the idea or whatever from that old series. If you stumped him, you got your sticker then instead of getting it at the end of the panel. Anywho, the first two anime I suggested were killed quick (Mysterious Cities of Gold was compared to Road to El Dorado) but I stumped him with Iczer. I guess there hasn't been any lesbians in space since then. Not that I'm proud of that offering, but I did get a congrats from the Dragon's Lair guy.

The Burandon concert was interesting. It was the best wannabe jpop band concert I've seen yet. His voice was pretty decent and his final song had growly voice, which amused me. I toyed with buying his cd but forgot to do that today, oh well.

I attended a really good fiberglass panel. Got solutions for stuff I was worried about for my Bubblegum Crisis costume. Magnets for closures and hot glue on card stock for pieces that need to flex (like her metallic underwear looking piece). The Halo armor that they showed was crazy amazing. A lot of the pieces are card stock with fiberglass over it.

Bought a Holo/Horo figure from "Spice and Wolf". It was a splurge but I really love the character. Wolf spirit chick who is bad ass but also has her cute moments. I had almost bought a different figure of her online so many times but I couldn't help myself when I saw one in person.
