I find myself facing a big decision on my Bubblegum Crisis cosplay. Whether to keep pushing to try to get it done for Nebkon or to just give up and save it for next year (begin work again in spring).
The thought of having it for Nebkon really does excite me... but I realize I have just over a month to get it done and I have barely tackled the two most complicated parts: helmet (which is halfway near smooth but is missing the antennas and face plates) and the chest armor... which the thought of begging mom to help me with a plaster or paper mache cast of my chest is not pleasant. To add to that, I'm fairly certain dad is going to be needing the garage so he can begin work on his Halloween decorations. (I think his frustration on not having worked on it at all before going out of town was probably one of many factors of us not getting along last week.)
I just fear that I've wasted 50+ hours on a costume I might never get to wear. I might not get another chance until next year's Nebkon and by then... maybe I'll be totally bored with the idea or find the next big "OMG I NEED TO DO THIS COSTUME NOW!"
And on a totally unrelated note, this past weekend was pretty good. Friday was a total bust but I went with Sarah down to Lincoln to hang out with Katie and had a good time. Spent some money, ate some tasty chicken, it's all good. Sunday, I went with mom to see the movie 9. Despite not so great reviews, I enjoyed it. They compared it to one of the Terminator movies, but fortunately for me, I haven't watched any of them. I totally want to make a doll of either 7 or the twins. I'd totally love to see someone do that cosplay.
