The Evens did this for a kid's show, Pancake Mountain (more on that later). They probably won't play it live, but it's an attestment to how completely amazing this band is. And hilarious. ANYWAY, the song is called Vowel Movement. It teaches you about the vowels, and yes... sometimes Y. (I still can't believe that 20 years after Minor Threat, the ( Read more... )

Hey that actually was pretty cool.

And sometimes Y?

Feel free to Come if you are free.

i haven't heard much of Jow Lally's stuff, only what's on his myspace. of what i've heard, it's darn good. i wish i had a credit card so i could order dischord records straight from the site. the only decent punk cd store in my city doesn't even have Get Evens.

Pancake Mountain clearly kicks Playschool right out of the water...

Are you kidding? Have you seen the cool toys on Playschool? Fiery Furnaces, Flaming Lips and the Go! Team cannot possibly compete with the coolness of Jemima, Big Ted and Humpty.
Teaching kids about vowels is great.

i want to make a such a pun about Humpty's first album being called The Wall and every album after that being crap because he had a bit of a fall in creativity... but i think i'll hate myself if i do.

Cypress Hill HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

After youtube-ing, the other bands don't even sing educational songs! They just sing their singles! A gigantic What The Fuck?

Pancake Mountain is some otherworldly public-access TV show aimed at grammar school students that just happen to feature the veritable who's who of the indie scene. A strange phenomena, really. - from under the weird Jenny Lewis Pancake Mountain video.

This is the oddest thing I have ever heard of/seen.
