Making ends meet

I seem to be having difficulty making ends meet this year. Last year I was pretty good in regards to sticking to a set budget and by the end of the year I pretty much paid off all my credit cards (debt due to big purchases like my digi cam, laptop, ipod, and big expenses from traveling). It's probably the whole new car thing. I didn't have a car payment until the end of last year, so that could be it. Now I have to prep myself for taking over my sister's apartment rent for a semester because I told her I would. I mean, that's not going to happen until the end of August, but I still have to get ready; it's only a hop-skip-and-a-jump away if you really think about it...

Wait a darn minute...If she's going to Hong Kong, she will miss our cousin Andrew's wedding to Sarah! I wonder if she's thought about that one...Speaking of weddings, another thing I have a hard time doing this year is losing weight. Instead of losing, I think I've gained a significant amount of weight *cries* There's some serious lifestyle adjustments I will need to make in my life, and fast! Let's start with cutting down the fast food and take out to once a week (at the most). That should save a few dollars and calories. What else?

I will have to lay out a set budget and stick to it. I've been meaning to do it, but it's hard when life sneaks up on you. I am almost done paying my mom off for the $3k she loaned me for the down payment on my new car, so that's nice to know. By next year I will have $200 a month extra which I can pretend I don't really have and stash it in savings. What else? Rent will change significantly from August to January, since I will have to pay much more taking my sister's place...But that's temporary.

Traveling. I already bought my ticket to Chicago, and that was already set in stone. Any other destinations? Lake Havasu, but I don't expect to have to spend too much money there, since most expenses are taken care of already...I think after that, I will lay low from going places too much. Gotta save. OK, time to make the money; lunchtime is over.
