December 1st, 2009
I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl at 7 lbs and 9.5 oz.
She's absolutely precious to me. I finally got to take her home yesterday. Now she's happy and comfortable here next to her mommy, daddy and grandma. Although we do expect visitors. Expect.
Wednesday, November 18th, 2009 I had some slight bleeding. Got a little nervous since I wasn't due till 12/22/09. My doctor told me to come into the office first thing in the morning. I called out of work, and went in Thursday, November 19th, 2009. My doctor did her normal check up, which is painful...mind you... and told me the reason why I was bleeding is because I have already dialated 2cm. She said that doesn't mean that I am about to go into labor, but it does mean that soon, within the next few weeks that I would. I made an appointment the following week.
Friday, November 27th, the day after thanksgiving, I went in for my weekly check up. Still painful. It doesn't get easier... She did her normal routine and said that I was now 3cm dialated and progressing fine. The baby wants to be born much sooner than later. She told me to make an appointment on Tuesday instead of waiting a full week...
2:30pm.
Tuesday, December 1st, 2009. I went to the doctor's office and had a different doctor check up on me. My doctor was on call and in the hospital delivering another patients baby. When the other doctor did her thing... She told me I was about 4-5cm dialated... and then she broke my water (on accident). It was quite awkward I want to say. Once I got up, the contractions began. I could hardly move without agonizing pain. I got into a taxi and rushed to the hospital.
3:00pm.
Got to the hospital, into the bed in Labor and Delivery and the pain all gathered up in huge outbursts. I will never forget that pain. It was unbelievable. I was having contraction every minute on the minute. Not once every 10 or 5 minutes, but every minute on the minute. I begged for an epidural. Dialated 6cm.
3:45pm.
The pain was agonizing. I don't remember much else but a lot of pain. For 2 hours I begged for an epidural, and for 2 hours the nurses and my doctor told me, "he was on his way." Dialated 8cm.
4:25pm.
The anesthesiologist came in finally and I was prepped for the the epidural. The contractions were coming in too fast I was starting to get scared and thought I didn't want it anymore. For 2 sets of contractions, I had to bite down and stay completely still as he inserted a needle into my spine.
Dialated 9cm.
4:45pm.
10 cm Dialated.
I pushed as soon as I hit the 10cm mark. I pushed so hard, all the blood vessels on my face, shoulders, neck and even one in my eye popped. The baby was ready, but she wasn't coming out. The doctor called in 6 other people into the room and they all gathered around me to push my stomach down as I pushed. Poor Chris was shoved out of the way. If this method didn't work, I had to get a C-section.
5:08pm.
My little princess was finally born into this world.
