if anyone is looking to do something nice for me (ha...ha?) my paid account expires in 10 days and id sure like to keep it as an upgraded account!
art and i just went out to dinner at this place called minado by his office. it's a japanese buffet place and they had sushi and hibachi and all the desserts were cut into tiny little pieces like they were sushi it was so cute and good!! plus i did my xmas shopping today, LAME. but at least im almost done, plus i have to wrap it all. meep.
so. this one time a few months ago when sam was here for some reason or another, we went into the city together for a playdate. actually the most epic part was the night before when we drank SPARKS on the walk home from the liquor store, sort of like vodka redbull in a can but it tastes like candy! and we got messed up on 2 cans of that each, plus some fake baileys / coffee liquer / soy milk / chocolate syrup concoctions. followed by the most epic dance party ever that lasted somewhere between 2 and 5 hours (i would be able to give you a more specific time range but im pretty sure i blacked out for a significant period of time). in the morning when i woke up there were blisters bigger than half dollars all over the soles of both feet, making our trip into the city very very painful. i mean these things were huge, and i could feel all that nasty body-healing liquid shit that's in the blisters squishin' around n' stuff.
so anyway once we were in manhattan a quick stop at tkts gave us 50% off tickets to a play called "pillowman" with jeff goldblum and billy crudup - very good. after that we wandered around a bit, got some more cheap tickets - this time for a comedy club. [note to sam: those expire on new year's, are you coming to nyc any time soon?] a quick stop in bryant park where i counted peeople filling various plastic bottles at the water fountain, then we hung out between two buildings in a quiet little resting area and ate a watermelon, mushroom barley soup, and other foods. plus nap time, whee!
after that was when we went to art's office and played "conference room", the most amazing game ever. we had to wait in the room while art finished up and such, and it was on. as sam described it, it was full of volumes and volumes of books that no one will ever read and are obviously just there to look intimidating. it has a big long table with soft rollie chairs around it, and a big phone with speakerphone and a wall full of windows with a beautiful city view including the empire state building. so sam and i are waiting and get into business mode. lots of shouting and "gerlach get me a stapler!"s involved. think j jameson from spiderman (the owner of the daily bugle).
in any case, my point is that i am updating from that office right now while im waiting for art again. this time sitting at brian's desk (he's at home in cali) in one of the cubicles with all the fancy-looking equipment on it.
GERLACH! PAPERCLIPS! STAT!
[ps now everyone is either gone or outside of the office for a cigarette so im all alone... I HAVE THE POWER NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]
