Well I see Hannah is down about some serious shit. You got a wish list up of all the shit that would make you happier. Well I think some attention needs to be given to things in life that are beautiful and worthwhile. You can't get too watered down with the negative. Don't get me wrong, the worlds a shitty place. It really is. It's cold, cruel, and unfair. But that's not the WHOLE world. So here's MY Christmas list of beautiful things and things that make the world a better place to live in.
- My Family (especially my brother Ben, who is the one I can ALWAYS just relax with. No drama involved.
- Music, which is my handrailing in life. No one can take your music from you.
- Weed. Now I know what you're thinking. "Don't depend on drugs to make you feel better". I don't. But when you're depressed and you take a rip and watch the sky, the world seems a little more etherial and beautiful. Then you realize, shit, that's just how the world looks.
- Pink Floyd and Nine Inch Nails. Now I know I already said music, but this is a bit more specific. Listen and you'll know. Especially Nine Inch Nail's "The Fragile".
- My friends. This includes Corey, in all his stoned, slacking stupidity. Christina, my loyal and loving girlfriend who has the kindest heart. And yes, you Hannah, the one who's been there since I learned what true depression is. And you're still here. Not to mention Zach, my oldest friend, and Taylor.
- Mixes. Mix making is an art that you can bury yourself in for a while. This is what my goal of going into record production was spawned from.
- Books. My gateway to everywhere but here. Not to mention that Sam Weller's is the coolest bookstore ever.
- Furgey's. The views from this little canyon make even Salt Lake Valley look beautiful. Not to mention it's a gorgious hike. Some good stoned moments up there too.
- The dollar movies. Where would we be without them?
- Rain. I love the rain. Even when it puts forth a depressing mood. Things seem a bit sharper and clear in the rain. The haze of things is washed away.
- Snow/cold. Nothing makes you feel life more than the bitter cold. Every sense in your body is stimulated and sharpened. Until you start to go numb. ;)
- Fall. Completely gorgious and magical.
- Red rock deserts.
- Indepedent music stores.
- Stoned sundays at the store.
- Twisted Metal 3 and Driver II, both for Playstation.
- Rare posters and albums, especially LPs
- Listening to elk bugal in Teton National park in the middle of the night in 2 feet of snow.
- Teton National Park and Jackson, WY. (one of the most wonderful places on earth)
- A brand new CD.
- Hot showers during a cold winter with the bathroom window open.
- Freshly fallen snow
- Mountain Dew over ice with either Little Caesar's or the Pie. The Pie is the best pizza you'll ever eat.
- Kick ass concerts.
- Clouds, lightening, sunsets, rain
- Light
- The simple things in life.
