More Updates, More Frequently only on KTLJ
Its been an interesting couple of days. i kept meaning to update but when i got home i was usually so tired, i quickly crashed.
As a few of you know I decided to enroll in school again, im only taking three classes and one of them is online. The other two are Tuesday and Thursdays. I worked out a nice schedule where I work on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and go to class Tuesdays and Thursdays. So i will still be able to make some money while continuing my edumacation.
I went back to work on Wednesday and it was like i never left, as in the papers on the desk and everything look like they hadn't even been touched. I got some work done on the site, small things mostly. We talked about what needed to be done and how we could get it done. i managed to talk him into trying to focus his attention on one project at a time till they get going then worry about the others. So far it is working alright.
Basically at this job i get a variety of hats to wear. Webmaster, IT Department, and HR. the IT one isn't hard at all, he only has a few computers and the biggest problem comes from the netgear comcast router he has. The Webmaster one is interesting since there are several things that i cant get done without information from him. Then there are other things that im just banging my head against because they aren't working as they should.
The HR one is new to me.. Ive never done it before but suddenly im in charge of posting want ads, sorting thru resumes, doing interviews and hiring people. Needless to say this one is the biggest had and the newest to me.
Im also doing a little real estate stuff as well making ads to rent out a couple of houses he has. Thats not hard fortunately.
School wise im not sure how things are. I went in to register for classes during a enrollment bazaar thing they had going on at city where someone from every department was there to help people with registration and what not. After waiting in line for about 10 minutes i was finally able to talk to someone to get my application in to go to school this year and I found out there was a hold on my classes, fortunately all i had to do was move over one seat and talk to another lady to get that removed and my classes signed up for. Ill be starting next week and my biggest problem always has been and still is books. I cant afford them but fortunately bunbun said she would help me out with that so I think this semester will go pretty smoothly. I just got to make sure i get to class and i shouldn't have any problems.
I still find it funny that i cant challenge some of the classes that i obviously don't need to take like site design 1 as i already know how to do that, my employment as a site designer should prove that heh.
There is a meeting this weekend for the con and bunbun should be here later tonight to pick me and KC up to go to the meeting. We will be staying at the Gracious Chateau De Lizzard for the night and then head back tomorrow after the meeting.
I talked to kinkos earlier and the pricing for business cards is all over the place. they want over $100 for 500 B/W on one side Color on the other Glossy on one side card stock business cards. 54 for just plain stock. however if i go with B/W on both sides and get the plain card stock, and cut it myself. i can get the price down to 20, 35 if i have them cut it.
Ill prolly go with the $20 one and just cut it myself. That way i still have some monies to buy some poster board for signs. I have a set of sharpie markers that I have been wanting to use for a while now.. hope they still work.
Well I think thats about it for now. Ill update more as it happens.. or after, one or the other.
