Law Firm Technology Fiascos, Part the Second
Heh heh. From my email this morning:
As of now the following describes our status:
1. External callers are able to leave voicemail messages.
2. Internal callers are unable to leave voicemail messages.
3. You cannot retrieve your voicemail messages via telephone (either your desktop phone at work or externally).
4. You can access voicemail messages via your work computer. You can also forward via email a voicemail message to another device that is capable of playing audio files in the wav format. This would include your home computer and may include your cellphone.
I will provide more updates as available information develops.
Given their insistence a few years ago on eliminating "redundancy" in communications systems and tying everything, phones, faxes, vm, to our computers, I'm surprised and gratified that with all of this voicemail kerfluffle I still can get my email.
