The Painters and Ushers
I finally made use of some of my available CAS Sims. While I was anxiously waiting for my new computer to arrive I wound up planning out 11 families, which is more than I'll need for awhile. I'll only allow myself to add them at the beginning of a rotation, and no skipping families on the list if there's not enough CAS Sims saved. I only have room for the first 2 families, since I'm adding them in the order they were created. I used the Prosperity Challenge way of rolling dice for the number of members, their ages, aspirations and personalities. I also used a random letter generator to choose the starting letter of each last name and first name. Then I used the name generator at Well Dressed Sim to get names. I chose their appearances though, and I redistributed personality points but kept their chosen zodiac signs. I also picked their turn ons/offs. The kids are actually mixes of their parents. Then I moved both families into their own copy of this 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house I built. I'm proud of the layout of the house, just too bad they both currently look like crap. Neither family could afford to paint or add flooring to the entire house. And they have mostly cheap furniture.
I want to appologize for the pictures this time around. I accidentally set the pictures to large instead of medium when I was messing with my game settings for my new computer. I also had a default skin in there that I just could not get use to at all, and ended up taking it out. I'm pretty sure it's in for the entire Painter update, and only the family shot of the Ushers. It's also going to be in the first few pictures of the OWBC, which I should start seriously working on next week, and the first chapter or two should be up before I head back to school.
The Painter Family
Judith, Alvin, Xenia, Angela
This is the Painter Family, which is made up of 4 members of 3 generations. Judith is Alvin's mother. Xenia is Alvin's wife, and Angela is their daughter.
Judith is a Romance Sim with the LTW to WooHoo 20 different Sims, which is not likely going to happen in the short time she has left. She managed to snag an elder job in Adventure, and topped it, to help out with the family's expenses.
Alvin is a Family Sim with the LTW to become a Captain Hero. He's going to have to wait to get into that career, since another position hasn't been unlocked yet. There should be one available for him by the next rotation though. While he waits, he took the one opening in Education.
Xenia is a Pleasure Sim with the LTW to become a Professional Party Guest. That's not likely to happen since I haven't unlcoked a Slacker position yet. I suppose I could use my next community lot (I'm only one household away) to make a club. I'll have to think about that. But for the time being, she also got a job in Adventure and is slowly moving up.
Last but not least is little Angela. Of course she doesn't have a LTW yet, and doesn't bring in any type of income. I could have her paint for some extra cash, but they can't afford an easel. She's a pretty lonely child since she hasn't met any of the neighborhood kids yet, so she just skills all day.
On their first day in Fruit Tree Isle, the welcome wagon was three of their neighbors who later became good friends of theirs. Xenia met Annita Usher. Alvin met Zane Usher. Judith met fellow Romancing elder, Abhijeet Dieppesse.
Like I said the family is quite poor. I just feel like throwing in this picture of Alvin serving spaghetti in their empty kitchen. By the end of my time with them, they were able to afford a better fridge and wood flooring.
Most of the time the family was working, or skilling for work, so nothing really interesting happened, except that Judith began dating Abhijeet. They've had a dream date and a great date so far.
The Usher Family
Zane, Annita, Piper, Richie, Pearl
The Ushers have 5 members. Zane and Annita are happily married. They have twin teens, Piper and Richie, as well as a younger daughter named Pearl.
Zane is another Family Sim, but I don't remember his LTW. I'm pretty sure it's something concerning 3 or 6 kids, which I'll do for him. He's currently working in the Business career, until he can find one in Culinary. His hobby is Cuisine, so it's fitting.
His wife Annita is a Popularity Sim whose LTW is to become a Hall of Famer. The career hasn't showed up for adults yet, so she's working in Adventure for the time being. She also digs for treasure in her free time, because once they earn enough money she's going to open a business called Annita's Antiques and Things. She'll sell the rocks and bones she finds, as well as the random stuff. It'll probably be a tricky business to run since some of the objects will be from the buy mode catalog. I'll have to keep track of what she actually dug up, so she doesn't restock something she doesn't have. Then I'll just sell the object from her inventory after she restocks it. I'm also thinking she'll sell restored cars, because her hobby is Tinkering.
Annita was lucky on their second night and found a treasure chest. I immediately sold it and upgraded all of their beds and the couch.
Piper is a Pleasure Sim with the LTW to have 50 dream dates. Too bad she hasn't brought anyone home from school or work yet. Her hobby is also Cuisine like her dad, so she works in Culinary after school.
Piper's twin brother is Richie, a Romance Sim with the LTW to be a Celebrity Chef. He works in the Culinary career along with Piper. His hobby is Music & Dance. Lucky for him, having 4 pay checks coming in meant they could afford the synthesizer. It came in handy for Zane and Piper too since they needed creativity points for promotions.
Finally, here's Pearl. Her hobby is also Music & Dance, but when the synthesizer isn't available she studies cooking or watches the Yummy Channel with her dad or sister.
The Usher's welcome wagon was Nicolas Bigfoot and Korey Jitmakusol. I forgot who the third person was, but there were only two people home to greet them and try to make friends.
Like the Painters, most of the time the family was working or skilling, but Richie did find time for dating. He seriously brought a girl home every day, either from school or work. I only let him go on dates with two of them. He had his first kiss with Chloe Gonzaga (former child townie), and his first make out with Sophie Miguel. Hopefully that means Sophie won't come around kicking the trash can for no reason. And just so you know, Richie's make out face is pretty weird.
Apparently semi-Romance Sim, Zelda Long, does not like Richie at all.
