I forgot to post this, but I got my dress!

I got it on Mother's Day. :D I went shopping with my mom and maid of honor. It turns out that my second-favorite dress was the winner. It was the first one I had tried on at this shop, and it gave me that "This is my dress feeling." But then the next dress went on and I got confused, like, "Wait... this could be my dress." So, I tried on many, many dresses after that and kept going back to those two dresses.

Kristine had managed to get more and better pictures of me in the second dress, so that become my favorite more and more, but there were certain aspects of the first dress that I just loved. The two are pretty similar, so I had thought of getting appliques (my favorite thing about the first dress) and putting them on the second dress.

The second time I went to that store (on Mother's Day), they clipped the dress down to show me what it would look like with a sweetheart neckline (my favorite part about the second dress). That even made my mom tell me that was my dress. The manager threw that alteration in for free, and they were having a Mother's Day sale, so I got my dress for 15% off. :)

I showed Karen and Cheryl a picture of it from the designer's website, and they both said it was gorgeous. :D

I can't wait for it to come in. I found a seamstress in this area who has fantastic reviews and is just a few minutes away, so I will probably take it to her to have my alterations done rather than go back and forth to Jersey.

Still need another bridesmaid. Trying to get together with one of my friends to ask her.

Ed finally asked his cousin Dave to be his best man. One down, two to go, he says. :)

I got quotes from some officiants. Now we're just trying to schedule times to meet with them before we pick one. Ed said it was something he hadn't thought about, but one of the tips I had read was to interview everyone and make sure you like them before you sign them. I'm hoping to have them all done by the end of the month, but I think mid-July is probably more realistic, since June is a busy wedding month and Ed's mom and stepdad are coming up the weekend of his birthday, so that eliminates a whole weekend for us to try to schedule stuff. Mid-week isn't always easy due to traffic, but we'll figure something out if we have to.

I had been trying to do too many vendor searches at once, so I had to take a step back and focus on one search at a time. It definitely seems to be helping my sanity, but I still have moments (like today) where I just want to do a little bit of everything.

We are on a good pace with paying for the venue. October is when our next deposit is due, and we have just a bit over half of the next deposit paid already. We're hoping to be about halfway through the third deposit by October.

I think I have my father-daughter dance song. I was originally going to go with "In My Arms" by Plumb, but Mom said she didn't like it very much (*roll eyes*) Then Dad suggested "Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman, but I didn't think the lyrics fit us very much. Then I was looking online and found a list of songs, so I listened to "I Loved Her First" by Heartland and Dad also likes it, so I'm pretty sure that will be our song. :)
