Welcome to *pnish*'s newest play, Time Box!
Below you'll find information on the parts we have available as well as rules for auditioning and how to get involved in this role play extravaganza :D
So you want to get a part in Time Box? *pnish* is welcoming all members from the first and second TeniMyu casts, all rival schools, as well as cast members from the Bleach musicals (regardless of what production they were in). A current list of taken characters can be viewed in the community's
profile. Anyone can audition for any role, but it is advised that you choose a part best suited to your character and the type of actor they are and what would appeal to them as a performer. However, if I (Leader) or Eiji (fuku-Leader) feel that your character would be more appropriate in a different role based upon your audition comment, we may move you into another spot. This will probably be rare and won't happen, but the warning is there in case the situation calls for it.
Once you've picked an actor you wish to roleplay, create a journal for that character and submit their journal information by email to kooriyoukai@livejournal.com so that the community profile can be updated with their LJ name and the character can be taken off the availability list. Once you're a member of the community you will need to submit an audition comment to this post if you desire to take on a character for Time Box, whereupon you will then be cast in one of the parts and given further information about the script and rehearsals.
On a final note, there are a few exceptions to these above stated rules. Certain individuals that be can roleplayed cannot audition for Time Box due to restrictions that would prevent them from being involved in a *pnish* production in real life. For the time being these exceptions include Kimeru and Nagayama Takashi. Both men can be roleplayed but cannot take part in the auditions, but their players are encouraged to involve the men in other aspects of the production and interact freely with the other members of the play. If you wish to role play either of these men and have any questions, feel free to email me and I'll answer them as best I can.
Additionally, if you feel that the actor you've decided to role play would not take part in this production, please include a note and an explanation in your email that includes your journal and character information, along with how you intend to connect the actor to the play without being in it. Creative suggestions are welcome, but please keep them realistic!
So what is Time Box about anyway?
In the tradition of *pnish* plays of the past, Time Box is a sweeping, action/adventure/comedy that deals with time travel, friendship, romance, and features legendary figures from all thoroughout history, but not quite the way we've been brought up to know them. How the main characters help these individuals and how they in turn affect history for the better (or worse) is all part of the fun and the mystery around Time Box!
The script for Time Box is a work in progress by me, Leader, and will be distributed to the actors who have won roles in the production on an act-by-act basis, meaning that everyone will be emailed each act of the script as they are completed and rehearsals have covered the prior act(s) to my satisfaction. Practice shouldn't be too difficult or intensive, but everyone should be prepared to spend a little time participating in rehearsals with the group and get to know their co-stars better.

Character Descriptions:
Tataki Kouji - A young man currently disillusioned with life and wishing to embark on an adventure that will take him away from his painful circumstances in the present.
Houjou Shuuhei - Best friends with Tataki Kouji, he wants to help his friend deal with his troubles but ends up getting dragged along on the mission given to them by Dr. Lippenbacher.
Dr. Lippenbacher - A brilliant but unstable inventor, he has known Tataki Kouji for several years and has always been a source for a distraction from Tataki’s turbulent life. He offers Tataki and Fuumi a way to go on a grand adventure, but has his own motivations behind the missions…
Washobu (I, VI, XII) - A young man descended from a long line of Washobu’s, he is a bit reckless and not too bright but has a big heart and is loyal to his friends. He always feels a special affinity to Tataki and Houjou in each time period they meet.
Jesse Jameson - The very handsome leader of the Wild Bandits, he organizes all of the missions he and his teammates go on but tends to forget key details necessary to completing the robbery, like a tool to open the safe or which track or station a train is arriving at. He’s an excellent marksman and carries two pistols at all times, and is always thinking of how to make their group the most famous gang in the West.
Clint Westwood - A member of Wild Bandits and Jesse’s second in command, he’s a chain-smoking sharpshooter of little words that wears a rifle over his shoulder and a poncho he frequently hides various metal objects behind. He claims to just be protecting himself from bullets, but his kleptomaniac urges are probably mostly to blame for his ability to come out of a gun-fight unscathed.
Billy Bonney (the Kid) - A timid youngster and member of the Wild Bandits, he’s a natural genius at hitting any shot with his long-barreled pistol, but he hates the sound of a gun firing and will usually shoot with his eyes closed, somehow still managing to make the shot every time.
Bobby (Butch) Cassidy - A cunning pyrotechnic and mechanic that supplies the dynamite and tools of trade for the robberies that the Wild Bandits perform, but dislikes taking lives and refuses to wield a gun. He wears goggles and has a face permanently smudged with the dark residue of the gunpowder he works with. His “lab” is also the base for the gang’s hideout.
Wart (Arthur) - The reluctant king and leader of the Knights of the Round Table, he accidentally knocked over a sword embedded in stone and was proclaimed king of Briton when discovered with the sword in hand as he tried to replace it. He’s a pacifist that doesn't like battle and would rather go back to being a stable boy and a squire for his cousin Kay.
Lancelot Du Lach - The devastatingly handsome and narcissistic knight and member of the Round Table, he rarely engages in fights lest it disturb his perfectly styled hair, and he keeps his sword polished and shined to better use it as a mirror to make sure he looks his best. He is bound to Arthur by order of his family, but would prefer to be in the company of pretty ladies (and boys) and far away from gruesome battles.
Gawain - Another cousin of Arthur’s and a true knight, he is also a member of the Round Table and a very capable of warrior. He willingly serves as Arthur’s protector and believes in Arthur’s destiny to become the king of Briton, though feels that his cousin needs guidance and time to develop his abilities as a great warrior.
Galahad - The youngest knight and tag-along member of the Round Table knights, he ran away from home with his older brother’s sword and armor and has a hard case of hero worship for the knights and wishes through his deeds to join the Round Table.
James Kirk - The courageous but brash captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise. He is an adventurer at heart and believes in bending the rules in order to aid those in need, but tends to think with his hormones and often needs to be bailed out of sticky situations by his shipmates.
Spock - Kirk’s second-in-command, a Vulcan of extraordinary intelligence that uses logic to solve problems and approaches life in an unemotional manner. Spock is endlessly fascinated by humans and their volatile states, and in particular Kirk’s need to constantly get himself in and out of danger when logic and reasoning could have solved the situation more efficiently.
Leonard McCoy - The Enterprises’ brilliant but temperamental doctor who can usually be found in the ship’s infirmary popping sedatives and hallucinogenic medication. He can diagnose almost anything but has a fear of blood and will usually become inebriated before performing surgery so to better stomach the procedure.
Zuru Hikaru - The pilot of the Enterprise and a rare descendant of Japanese origin, he is obsessed with ancient Japan and desires to follow the way of a samurai warrior in order to maintain the traditions of his people. Zuru’s infatuation with Japan is misguided and factually incorrect at times, and he attempts at least once a day to commit seppuku to bring honor to his family.
Uhura - Uhura is your typical, bored, flippant call center employee, plucked from an endless supply of beautiful young women and placed on an interstellar starship thousands of light-years from her favorite nail salon. Uhura hardly looks the part of a military officer, with her pink hair worn in a side ponytail, bright green nails and heavy makeup, and at least once a day she’s reprimanded for snapping her bubblegum too loudly. For Uhura, what’s the big deal with life among the stars when there’s a hangnail that needs to be filed?
Just remember, all parts are first-come-first-serve, so if there's an actor and a character you feel strongly about claming, be sure to get your journal information emailed in ASAP and post your audition in a comment to this post in order to be casted! On behalf of all the members of *pnish*, we look forward to working with you and making this play our best one yet!
