I'm a big jerk and I apologize to anyone who followed the link from yesterday to listen to me spin. Apparently you need to search for "VinyltechAZ" to find the station I was spinning on. Appy-ollo-loggies.
Fortunately, they recorded my set, so it'll be available for streaming download in a day or so. I'll update with the link when it's up.
It went pretty well, for me not having spun "out" (as it were) in ages. The DJs I've been meeting have all been a definite source of inspiration, and I'm going to try to organize some small get-togethers to bring some of these people together. Hopefully, we can get something interesting going - I'm thinking of a weekly or some such - if not, it's nice to have cool people to practice with.
I also had an interview for a new job today that went pretty well. Here's to keeping my fingers crossed. A plus is that they want whoever they hire to start on Monday, so I won't have to wait long to know if I got it or not. So that's nice.
I ended a pretty productive day at the Palo Verde, as I do most weeknights, since it's a block from my house. For those not in the know, it's a shithole dive bar where, shall we say, punk rock types like to hang out. It's actually quite fun, and I know most of the people who go there, which always makes for a hoot.
However, as 1AM rolled around and everyone was leaving the bar, I went to my car to go home. There was a girl who was unbuttoning her pants and asked me to wait 3 seconds so she could piss next to my car. Right next to my door. With a bathroom 10 yards away, tops. Then she had the nerve to act indignant when I told her to piss somewhere else.
"You can't wait 3 seconds for a girl to piss?"
So I can walk through a puddle of your urine to get in my car when there is a bathroom (pointing) right there? No, I can't.
