GLEEEEE!!!
It's true what people say about celebrities or tv people-- that they are amazing in person!
I saw a person who I think is amazing. I grew up watching him on MuchMusic (The Punk Show, Loud, and The New Music) and now he has his own show on CBC Newsworld called "The Hour"-- that's right! I'm talking about the man himself- George Stroumboulopoulos!!!!
Jenn and I went down around 7:15 and were the first in line! The frostbitten toes were worth it because we got amazing seats! We got to see every action that was done. Before the show George came out and told us how the show is done and blah blah blah, and then he asked to do Q & A-
Me being the gutsy one that I am stuck my hand up first and asked: "what interview is the top of your list-- as in the interview that was bigger then Jesus" - His response was the interview he did the The Clash's lead singer Joe Strummer. Apprently George was hanging outside of much music waiting, and a big black car showed up, and out dressed all in black "like something out of a Rancid video" was Mr.Strummer... He said that he was like "fuck! this is JOE STRUMMER"... And that he interviewed him shortly before he died...
Other things about Mr. Stroumboulopoulos I didn't know:
1. The person that inspires him most is his mom ^_^-- She was a single mom and raised him and his sister Natasha by herself, and that his Uncle Paul was the male figure in his life
2. That he played Sum 41 on his radio show (Just put in their cd and let it play for a half hour!) and basically launched their careers
3. That he has read Tolstoy and is reading "The Prince" by Malkav
4. That he used to work at MR. SUB! And his fave sub was of his own creations-- Spicy Italian meats, then meatballs then add bacon *L* wow....
5. He keeps a Blackberry in his back pocket, reads every e-mail he gets ( the good, the bad and the very ugly aka: death threats?!?!) and that he was keeping track of the Leafs-Habs game! *L* He had a man on the inside watching the game sending updates *L* He got one from a britney spears fan bitching about his opinion of her while he was doing the show *L*
I have to say for a guy who everyone loves, he is so very down to earth. He hung around and signed autographs and chatted with people. Between segments they gave out shirts and stuff and he asked for more Q&A-- and people stuck around almost and hour just sitting and listening to him answer questions. It was great! I got an autograph and pics. So did Jenn! Apparently she got shy ^_^ *L*
Well... This was amazing. I hope he comes back. Especially when the weather is warmer! He froze his ass off out at Cape Spear! *L*
