So it turns out that I underestimated my book's page length..considerably. When I made my last count, I was at 420 pages. Not bad considered I had guessed 400 in the initial proposal to my publisher. During this last count, however, I forgot to add the last third of my anthology (all parts of my book are in different files, per the publisher's mandate). So, add one lengthy section to the mix and a few added pages during revision, and I know have exactly 500 pages to my book. The index will be added to this, but I have in front of me 500 pages of text printed out on my desk, waiting to be read and revised...again. This means that the final book will be longer and will cost for my students, but this also means more royalties. Hmmmm. Not much I can do about it, so I guess I can't stress about it.
