My book is almost done!!! I've been working on it nonstop since the end of the Spring semester. I'm going through each essay now and making minor adjustments and changing all of the endnotes of every essay to following more strictly MLA guidelines. I know APA by heart, but most of my contributors chose MLA, so I'm going with MLA. You can mix and match styles in books, but I think it looks bad when you do that.
It is currently 425 pages after I cut most of the speeches down to excerpts. It would have been 500+ otherwise.
It's sounding really really good too. I was a little frightened about the quality of the text these last few months, but it's now looking and reading like a useful scholarly/classroom text. I guess every author gets a little scared as the deadline approaches, but I'm pretty satisfied right now.
It'll be interesting to see what the book reviews say once it's published.
