New Computer
Our old computer was a seven-year-old Dell, running at the speed of erosion and shutting things down whenever we didn't need them shut down, so Hubby finally broke down and bought us a new one. It's a Dell Optiplex 740, runs super fast, and is about half as big as the old one.
A few minor quibbles. I'm quite sure I'd asked him to get Word on it, and it doesn't have it. I'll have to ask what's up when he gets home. My ergonomic keyboard doesn't work on it, either (wrong connector).
Like a dummy, I forgot to save all my bookmarks onto the flash drive, so now I have to go through the internet and find them all again. Either that or re-hook up the old one temporarily and get the bookmarks off of that. I'll stick with searching the web, as it doesn't involve moving this fershlugginer desk and unhooking and rehooking cables.
Yay for a new computer! Now to get a job to pay for it...I applied at a bunch of places yesterday: Spirit Halloween Store, Michael's Craft Store, Barnes & Noble (holiday positions, but I'll take what I can get). Also an entry-level position at the library. I would absolutely love that library job; I am a total bibliophile. Undoubtedly, several hundred others want the job too. Well, we'll hope and pray and see what happens.
