Jon Stewart: "Even on his seventh day, Obama did not rest. -- Unlike some deities I could name. -- I'm looking at you, Y... Y... Yoshua? Whatever; I don't know. What would be the name I use, guy who discussed Jewish things with me earlier? Yahweh? Whatever; alright, one of them. Let's just refer to him as 'Phil.'"
You know that you don't follow your religion very closely when you don't even know what you call God. "Jesus" in Hebrew is "Yeshua" (it is an abbreviation of "Yehoshua" = "Joshua").
An unrelated error:
Aired January 27, 2009 (part of the script, but the result of ignorance nonetheless)
Larry Wilmore: "The last time we [Black people] were in was way back when we built the pyramids."
Jon Stewart: "I don't want to rain on that parade, but I believe that you made us [Jewish people] build the pyramids."
Larry Wilmore: "Like I said, we were in."
Me: "I don't want to rain on that parade, but the ancient Egyptians weren't black. (The Copts are their descendants.) Furthermore, we don't know what the Jews built while they were in Egypt, but it certainly didn't include the pyramids of Giza. They were built around 2500 BC -- about 900 years before Jacob and his descendants entered Egypt."
