Regarding the FB statuses:
You may not have the financial ability to help those less fortunate than you, no matter in this country, Haiti, or anywhere else in the world, but as a human being you have the ability to be compassionate and caring about a tragedy which has killed and displaced thousands. So let me see just one person posting this bs status update actually give some money to a homeless person on the street or subway instead of walking by and saying "I'm not giving money to them, it'll just go to drugs", or defend the healthcare industry which is depriving old and young of their ability to get their medicine, or volunteer for one day in a school where kids don't have books to go around. Actions speak louder than words. So if you believe that the cause is greater in the United States and the need is greater, then do something instead of posting selfish American bullshit as a facebook status.
