wow...I just got done checking in a person at the hotel. Can we say confused and not considerate?
Okay, it's orientation here at Edinboro, and we've had a few people at the hotel thest past few days. Tonight is...well...lets say intresting. It started when I got a call asking how far the inn was from the campus. They wanted to know what exit it will be, or if it will be different, and which way to turn once off the highway. Well, in order for that I need to know if you're coming from Erie (south bound) or Pittsburg (north bound). When i asked from which direction, north or south 79, and which city coming from, they had no idea...so right there i knew I was in for a bunch of fruitcakes.
The women got here, and had a long conversation with each other about how to split the rate, who gave then the wrong time to check in, the fact of wanting to hang around so they can cop out of the 2 nights if they wait till 4 am, not wanting to rush here, and so forth. mind you all things that could be done once in the room, but no, they had to do it in the lobby. 10 minutes into their bickering, a few other guests came to check in, but I needed to finish what I started with the women first, and I made that apparent to them while they were standing around. The guys left, and came back 15 min later, thinking they could check in then...but the women were still there. I stated getting irritated, due to them not making up their minds, not thinking that they can figure out things later, and they were holding up the line. I kinda snapped and said you can figure out later, told them the price and stood for a few more min while they figured out who would pay.
All in all, i think I was with them for around 30 min...yeah...normal check-in even with complications only last 5 min.
And to boot, last night i had a few guys check in from pittsburg that have a lot of money. The guy came down afterwards to talk for about an hour. Again, for orientation, so I was giving him the scoop of the college and what to expect. We got on money topic...and here's where I wanted to smack him...well...kinda. He was talking about cars, phones, and houses to rent out. A freshman to be and already wanting a house to himself...yes, a whole house. How he also just spent $26,000 on a new car, and his friend was able to spend a whoping $8,000 more than him for his car. And from there, he stated, "i don't like people who brag about their money, and who are able to spend it on 30,000 + $ cars".
I'm sorry, but ah...you're talking about how you just bought a $26,000 car, right after i told you i had to count pennies to pay the extra $2,000 on my new car after the insurance claim coverage from my accident. yeah, i'm not working 2 jobs for nothing.
So that's my entertainment in the hotel world...ugh
