Was it a date?

I have just had a good 4 hours in the pub with my friend from work. We chatted initially about work but then about loads of stuff, really getting to know each other better.

We sat on a pair of high stools to a high table, not on opposite sides but adjacent. Much of time we leaned in to talk and were reasonably close, and as the night drew to a close we got really close.

When we left, we thanked each other and walked to the car park. There was a brief moment when we stopped to talk, me wondering what I was doing or she wanted me to do. I like her and wanted to kiss her goodnight, at least on the cheek, but i didn't take those two impatient steps forward.

We had talked about going to the cinema or concerts while we chatted, so instead I suggested as we said our goodnight's we look to take in a movie or concert. She said there were no decent bands at the local live venue she had in mind and instead we should go to a movie. I obviously said I would see what is on and work something out for us.

I don't want to get this situation wrong but we both were laughing and enjoying ourselves. I know she likes me just don't know if tonight's 4+ hours was a date or if I should structure the cinema too make sure it is a date. Its sitting across from your friend and realising you are attracted to her and she makes you feel so rejuvenated.

Oh and guess what I have 2 tickets to a concert in Portsmouth next Wednesday and no-one to go with. It seems to soon to forcing my musical tastes on her, so looks like another wasted hopeful spare ticket.
