Hi everyone, I just joined out of exasperation. I'm recovering from a particularly bad PMDD spell and I feel like I have nobody to go to, so I decided I should join this community and get my feelings out. ( Read more... )
Among the "bizarre" symptoms, I don't think lack of motivation is that bizarre -- it kind of goes along with depression, moodiness and exhaustion, for me.
The spaciness & disassociation I totally recognize. For that, try taking Vit. B12 -- lots. I take 5000 mcg/day, and it has to be a sublingual kind, not a capsule or anything you just swallow. Although I can chew them up, I don't have to let them sit and melt under my tongue. Generally speaking I'd say the common sense thing of talk to your doctor about it first, but in this case -- as far as I can see from a quick Google -- it's pretty impossible to overdose on B12, so you have nothing to lose but the cost of the bottle of pills. It made a dramatic difference for me, Your Mileage May Vary.
The other thing that has helped me a whole lot with general PMDD symptoms, mood and bloating and clumsiness and all, is evening primrose oil, 4000 mg/day. Between those two supplements I have gone from totally debilitating PMDD to barely noticeable PMS. Again, YMMV, but I hope you will find something, this or something else, that works for you!
