Clearly, we should compromise and get both!

I had a twelver of the Alaskan Winter Ale over Thanksgiving weekend. At first I found it be a little hoppy at first for my taste, but this only lasted for a short time. I can see where someone might be put right off and not give it a chance though.

To try to take the edge off the pain last night, I had many pints of Boddington's and Harpoon's Winter Warmer. The Winter Warmer is not half bad. Or maybe I was just too drunk by that point to evaluate properly.

Peter! You didn't try Lake Placid Brewery Frosbite Ale. Now, that's understandable, from a geographic perspective, but, well, you'll have to revise your whole rating, in my estimation. We'll take care of this at Christmas!

I don't think we get that one out here in the sticks, but we can try to bring a few of our favorites out for comparison.... I know we missed Widmer's Snowplow Ale, and there may have been others as well. That's the great thing about science: repeatable results. Yum!
