Why can't we not think about the things we feel and say?

The sad truth about the idiocy of human beings

Every now and then, a person just needs to scream
To let their words pour out of them without restraint

We are taught not to do this

We are taught to think before we act

To think before we speak

To bottle up the true thoughts and words that flow endlessly thorough our mind, but may never come out because they aren't...

Politically correct

…Or proper

…Polite

…Or wise

Emotion is a luxury that we are trained to suppress

And it's even worse being a man

Being emotional is being a pansy

To have fear is to be less of a man

And to cry

…is to be a woman

Why can't we be honest?

With ourselves

With our emotions

With other people

Why do we have to wait until we explode before we can express everything we are?

When something bad happens, you always hear, "it wasn't meant to be"

That's a bunch of crap

Bad thing are not meant to happen to good people

Having your heart torn out isn't a part of the master plan for you to move on and find the right person

We say that in order to cope with the feelings of loss

The feelings of anger

Of pain

Of rejection

We have been told to not get over emotional

So we create a lie to convince ourselves that it was meant to be that way

Heaven forbid us to embrace what travesties have occurred

To allow ourselves to cry

To be vulnerable

To hurt

Sure…

We do move on

But we do so falsely

We trick ourselves into thinking that we are ready

When all we really seek is a distraction from reality

We take every opportunity for avoidance

We work

We sleep

We go out more

We indulge in guilty pleasures

We do everything that a person should do in their lives

But we do it for the wrong reasons

We don’t do it to live a happier life

The way we always should

No….

We do these things because we feel the need to do everything in our power to not face our problems head on

We fake it until we make it

And what we make is a facade

The reality remains suppressed

Just waiting for a trigger to release all the emotions that have been buried away

And often

They end up being misdirected

Anger towards a boss falls on a friend

Lost love becomes forced lust

Sorrow turns to resentment

Frustration becomes avoidance

And longing becomes regret

We know what we want

We know what we should do

Need to do

Yearn to do

But we fall too afraid to do it

Too afraid to face the possibility of failure

We become cowards

Too afraid to go for our dreams

Because for some reason, people would rather have the dream than have it crushed

That again is bullshit

There is the saying that it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved before

That sounds true

And should fall upon the quest for happiness

To reach that which we want most out of life

It is better to have tried and failed

Than to forever say what if?

We are a backwards people

Afraid of what others think about us

Afraid of what we truly are...

Or want to be

We hide behind distractions

We adhere to the social standards laid into us by a society of idiocy

We all know what the concept of utopia is

But we don't even strive to reach it

We convince ourselves that it can never happen

That perfection can never be reached

It is too far

It is too much

Why set yourself up for failure?

Why start a project that you can't finish?

I'll tell you why…

It's because coming close to perfection

Would still be better than where we are now
