i discovered something this weekend. providence is kindof awesome.
no no...seriously.
forget club hell, forget snotty RISD kids, and forget firewater yuppies.
outside of those things (and CMON, like boston has any room to criticize), providence holds some really awesome hidden treasures. most importanly, all the young people are not neccessarily in SCHOOL.
there's a sick metal scene everywhere
harleys ride by every minute
there's more than two good bars (even though the safari club is now no more)
living there is cheaper, which brings people that would rather spend their money on a good time
i did not see ONE coke den
or a single prepubescent coke fiend
i smoked in a bar
you see YOUNG people riding harleys and driving vintage cars.
everyone wants to have fun
now, i know its no ny, la etc, but still, i'm just happy that i can spend $14 on a train ticket and half an hour later find myself in a different world.
now i just need to make more providence friends who want me on their couch.
