A friend of mine decided to set up a challenge to write a poem a day for February. And, since she asked nicely, I decided to to do the challenge. So, here is today's poems, culled from a page of crap. And they're still quite crap. I was lacking for inspiration and looking out the window at the sky whilst wishing for my IR camera.
IR Photography
Blue skies turn black,
Carved out by clouds,
Growth enlightens,
Embrightens,
And shines,
Shadows deepen to pits of hell.
Heavenly luminescent calm,
Tumultuous unearthly drama,
Either can be shown.
See the unseeable,
Write with hot light
Time is condensed,
Slowed,
Or wound back.
Seconds limp along uncaring.
And I have a few random bits:
Plane contrails,
Drift
On far away currents:
Mankinds’ calligraphy.
Drifting on the strains of the cello,
That waft on the cold sun-sparkled air,
Upwards into a pale blue sky,
With swifts whizzing by.
Nature awaits her chance to spring,
The frost hides in shadow,
Keeping her down, holding her back,
To give winter another chance to attack.
Hopefully I will get better as the month goes on.
