ME: Citadel DLC

I still need to get it, and a lot of the stuff sounds pretty neat. But I accidentally stumbled across this video on youtube and well...

Only click on the link if you don't mind being spoiled in regards to James Vega

So, yeah. I didn't mind being spoiled because I was never interested in romancing Vega. But sheesh! Already, there's a lot of discussion so thankfully, it's not me being overly sensitive.

But is this really how Bioware thinks assertive women are supposed to pursue a man? This is more offensive than her slimey come ons toward Jacob in ME2. She repeatedly sexually harasses Vega and then waits until he's drunk enough and then continues to badger him. Just think about how you'd feel if the genders were reversed. If it were Liara and not Vega who was saying "No thanks" and a male Shep who kept pushing.

Skeevy. Super duper skeevy.

The only way for this to work would be after the first conversation where it gets really awkward and uncomfortable Shepard backs off and you know, maybe respects the fact that he turned her down. Instead of having consequent dialogues of "How do I get you to see me as a woman and not just your commander?" Vega needs to be the one to independently change his mind and initiate romantic dialogues. He could still be uncomfortable or unsure, but if he brought it up instead of her it would seem more like a mutual attraction with nervousness about fraternization and less like PRESSURE SEX/ASSAULT FROM THE WOMAN IN AUTHORITY.
