Or what I'd like to call, "The Mako Factor." There's a lot written and said already on storyline and I've only completed chapter 1 in the Jedi Knight storyline, so I'm going to touch on a few other things that make me giggle or just infuriate me.

Some of the other female companions totally give me the BFF vibe. Like Kira and Elara, both of whom I'm pretty sure are having epic slumber parties, tossing out high fives, and painting the JK/TR toenails when they get the chance. I really like both Risha and Akavvi too, mostly because Risha is a snarky bitch and Akavvi is a total hardass. Together with my female smuggler, they're like a band of kickass Charlie's Angels that fight crime for money and not justice.

I dunno why Mako irks me so hard. But then, as I play through the Bounty Hunter class slowly, I'm realizing that I'm getting the same distaste for Torian too. Like Mako, he just seems to be there to push every single fangirl button (and the hair is so unfortunate). He's kinda like Alistair that way, except that I liked Alistair as a character even though I eyerolled and lmao as I played through the romance. I do, however, like that the game will let you push them together (I think? Haven't gotten the option for that yet. Maybe I've flirted with Beiber Fett too much?). I sort of want Mako and Torian to go be 20 years old together and have my Bounty Hunter run off with Gault instead (who should have been a romance alternative. Damn you, game!).

It's possible that I'm just a decade or so older than their target audience. I also tend to hate cute female characters. So poor Mako probably had a lot of my personal quirks working against her right from the start. I will say though that she's not nearly as bad as Nadia or Ashara - Nadia especially which as the most cringeworthy romance in the whole damned game.
