I love the new non-inventory system. I don't want to have to dick with gun brands, ammo types, and upgrades to figure out which one kills bad guy spawn faster or harder. I just want to point and shoot. Aiming is hard enough.
Your take on Miranda is interesting. She rubbed me the wrong way, but now that you mention it, that arrogance about her genetic superiority is kind of a cop-out on taking credit for her own hard work.
Samara is awesome. Except for the fact that I think her boobs had their own game design staff (but kudos to that staff because the second outfit is gorgeous on her), I love that she is so scary-alien and disconnected. And her loyalty quest is yay for not having to shoot a bunch of shit.
I really wanted more time with Legion. Legion felt a bit rushed, especially since you go from zero to root access in like, 9 seconds. Although maybe having Legion for longer would inevitably lead to Legion/EDI (it's my new OTP - I see them like the couple in Titanic, when they're on the prow, except she IS the ship and he's all, "We chown root:admin of /world!")
Did you listen to some of the overheard conversations? Bioware outdid.
I liked not having an inventory too - especially since I'd just played through the first game and was so sick of messing with it and turning stuff into omni gel one by one. Gah.
Loved Samara - thought her first outfit was tacky as hell, but she looked smoking hot in the second. I really love what bioware has been doing lately with women beyond the typical "romancable" age. Between Dragon Age and ME2 we get Wynne, Samara and Mama Cousland (who kicked ass and I thought you should be able to take her through the whole damn game). I hope this is a trend that continues because it's so interesting to see those kinds of women finally represented and kick ass in a game.
