Just got Mass Effect 2 for a while. I plan to vanish while I ruin, ahem, finish this game. Already, I find myself screaming at the screen, "Go write about it in your livejournal, Jack!"

I have to admit that Jack grew on me - but I think that might be because I was playing a fem!Shep soldier and her biotics totally kicked ass. I did her loyalty quest early though, just so I could get her a damn shirt.

Jack would totally have a livejournal. There'd be all this misspelled emo ranting and pictures of all her new tattooed.

Been playing mostly with Miranda and Jacob so far, because they seem the most well-rounded and 3D characters. Admittedly, I still don't have all my crew and die a lot, because I keep trying to brawl like I'm a tank and forget that I'm an engineer, but, you know.

Jacob I found to be okay, but kinda boring in comparison to some of the others. Of the new guys, Mordin is totally my favorite. I took him with me a lot.

Get. Mordin. To. Sing.

I really liked Jacob right from the first, and I love the loyalty mission (Apocalypse Now, anyone?). I wish he didn't have to compete with both Garrus and Thane as potential LI. Makes it hard to choose.

I liked Jacob at first, but he's gotten kind of, I don't know... bitchy?

I've got all characters except for one now and so far my favs are Thane, Mordin and Zaeed. I think I just need to complete the playthrough before I can solidify any real opinion, though. I really like what they did with Miranda, though. She comes off sort of bratty and I could see how fangirls would loathe her, but all her actions are justifiable so far. More complicated than your standard ice princess, like Morrigan/Viconia.

Miranda definitely rubbed me the wrong way at first. Until we got her loyalty mission and she showed some vulnerability. I didn't think her bratty, just very arrogant. She made us wonder why Shepard even needed to be around with SuperMiranda on the case. I had a crazy weird feeling at the start that it would be Miranda who would somehow swoop in at the end of the game and take credit for all the hard work we did just because she was so genetically superior.

For some reason, as much as I liked Canderous--I can't stand Zaeed. He's an asshole with a vindictive streak. Even once he starts talking to you in the garbage cube processor (and yes, that's another hit with the kids, making garbage cubes. Cmdr Shepard saves world, but only after feeding fish, playing with space hamster, shooting pyjacks, and making garbage cubes. Oh, and waiting for Legion to do the robot), it seems like too little, too late.

The fact that he's not a Canderous clone is the reason I almost like him, or appreciate that the writers are mixing it up a bit. I mean, damn... they up a Canderous analog in every goddamn game. And while I love Canderous it's nice that they went for someone different this time.

Also let's face it, if you were going to pick up a hard ass merc for your team, odds are you'd end up with a complete douchebag like Zaeed rather than an honorable asshole like Canderous. And his loyalty mission? What an asshat. I totally think it kicks ass that bioware added someone like him in the game.

Yes. Some of the stuff he says is downright hilarious because he doesn't realize or care how wrong it is. I can say this from the safety of my couch.

More than half these characters, I'd probably wish a death by fire in real life. But then again, I wouldn't walk up and knee people in the groin like Shepard, either.
