Still not quite done with Dragon Age. But done enough to know there's no one better in the universe than a dog.

I have taken to calling my lab my Mabari War Hound, and cooing about going outside to eat darkspawn. Sadly, she remains a lab.

Also, loved your fic! Still need to review it, but I was wondering if that is actually what happens in game? I have only played the Commoner origin story so I wasn't sure. Either way, it was great....

Yeah, I was bad and went for the dwarf solely because I was curious how the mechanics would play out during the love scenes. I think I may have missed that train, though, because I'm already to the final confrontation.

Dwarf commoner story you start out casteless fighting alongside Leske, so yeah. And no one in your party has anything to say about it when you stick it to him. That was one moment ingame where I was going, "Really? Come on! That's Leske, man!"

but you don't have to kill him, right? Because my human commoner didn't.

I was really, really trying not to kill him. Maybe I picked the wrong dialogue choice or maybe it forces you into it because it's part of the dwarven commoner story?

that is what I was thinking, it might be part of the dwarf commoner thing? Which would be amazingly harsh.

I'd buy that, since the game is chock-full of harsh stuff. I'm flitting around the magi origins now, and right off the bat you're kind of cornered into stabbing Jowan in the back.

Of course, some of the harsh things, while they seemed appropriate at the time, aren't apparently canon. I totally sacrificed Isolde in my dwarf game, because I had a hunch that it wouldn't just take a day to reach the Circle of Magi for help, but a ginormous quest or so an realistically that demon would've obliterated Redcliffe in that amount of time. But when you look at the codex, it mentions nothing of Isolde's death, only that Connor was sent to the Circle after receiving their help to purge him of the demon.

I still think killing Isolde made the most sense. Alistair flips shit over it back at camp. -14 disapproval. But he's a funny thing, anyhow. I got a higher approval from Alistair over giving him some carving for a gift than for nailing him. I think I should be offended that my abilities in that particular venue were only rated +6.
