Originally, I had wanted to dump this on the 25th, then rationalized the deadline to the first. Some are sketches, some are finished, you know the drill. I worked all day today trying to finish off two paintings and in retrospect probably should have worked solely on just one so I could have a single painting finished as opposed to two half-finished paintings. Aw well, that's for another day.
Here's an oldie that I'd been meaning to finish off forever. Huzzah.
Here's a series of sketches spawned by both the Sims and a desire to fiddle with how many variations of a half-Twi'ek, half-human I could come up with. As it turns out, I am less creative than I pretend to be.
This one I named Caden (which sadly, is a recycled name... those sims breed like bunnies!) Standard D type lekku configuration. The oldest adn very quiet and serious, Caden has enough focus and willpower to blatantly ignore his other numerous siblings, even if they dance in front of him on fire, and read.
Second born, Jerrick always was a fairly surly and miserable individual. He looks the most like a Twi'lek, but the tips of his lekku have hair and he's lacking a brow ridge. So he could blend in as a Twi'lek... but as a transgendered Twi'lek. I think this accounts for his irritability.
I think Raican grew up listening to stories of the Pimp-King of Thule and took them all a little too literally. He's got a single lekku, which happens occassionally in Twi'leks... I can't remember if it's good luck or a bad omen.
As the only female, I think Senia likes to flash big innocent eyes and resort to violence when no one's looking.
While all his other siblings are blue with brown eyes, Aggie was the only one that turned out Caucasian with blue eyes. He seems to be in a perpetual state of profound confusion. Where Jerrick's the closest to Twi'lek, Aggie's closest to human. His lekku are tiny enough to be covered by shaggy overgrown hair, so much that I wouldn't be surprised if doctors suggested amputating them for simplicities sake. If this is the case, I'm thinking they either were found to contain part of his brain or Mom threw a hissy fit of monstrous proportions. I suspect that Senia and Raican battle over who gets to keep him and the term "wing man" is thrown around loosely. Because, let's face it, siblings aren't people, they're valuable commodities.
Jules is the baby and as a result, I don't know much about him. This sketch makes me think he resembles Uncle Griff, though.
The next two comics were made simply so I could test out a non-photo blue pencil and different papers for ink. My technical pens also decided to crap out on me, I'm going to have to clean them hardcore style. I am pleased to announce that I think I'm finally burnt out on the sims, however.
This one is on the dangers of the accidental pregnancy hack. I exaggerate, but not really.
I like gouache, but I think this one looks like pastels. It's not.
And I did this for my mom. And even with several printouts and trying to plan, I need to redo it. Even 16X20 isn't big enough because I'm missing two siblings on my dad's side and I won't get into how many great-aunts/uncles I need to add in. Oi.
Done for now. I'll try to get those two paintings finished.
