Still sick, but it's one of those sicks where everything's fine from the neck down so you contemplate decapitating yourself to make everything better. Adam was a trooper and puked in my stead.

I would stick in an obligatory neener for the 360 that I purchased with my father as a "family gift" but I'm too busy playing games and forgetting about things like eating and sleeping.

Quick game overviews that I'll keep relatively spoiler-free:
Kane and Lynch isn't really my style, but I can see how it would be fun if I were to play it with someone. Also, I suspect that the designers thought the best way to insist that it was an "M" rated game was by inserting the word "fuck" after every other single word in the dialogue. It sounds like I'm exaggerating, but I swear I'm not.

Assassin's Creed has been very fun to watch the brother play. I admit it's downright hilarious how directly below every single ginormous tower your character climbs up, there's a haystack to land safely in. Hilarious for the consistency, hilarious that you can just walk away after plummeting ten stories into a pile of hay. There seems to be a lot of options: snapping a target's neck, stabbing them in the side, hoisting someone off a building and killing the three people his body lands on, etc. I have a feeling I would suck at this kind of game because it's action, but it's certainly entertaining enough just to watch.

Mass Effect. Oh dear god, Mass Effect. The only reason I'm bothering to type this up right now instead of playing is because the brother's playing Assassin's Creed. There's a mix of so many wonderful things in that game. There's the sense of that everything's less black and white (the first mission you're put on, civilians are being slaughtered, but your objective is to first secure this beacon, then if you can help the civilians, sure. Because you're a soldier, you follow orders and the beacon is more important than some human lives.) The Renegade/Paragon paths seem less about good and evil and more about how patient you are and willing to talk and accept help. All the alien and AI races seem to have rich histories (much more complete than when Bioware was borrowing other peoples' property like KotOR)and I like customizing Shepard in the beginning. It sort of reminds me of Battlestar Galactica. The big complaint so far is the mako and what a completely inept driver I am. I have driven that thing into lava, off a cliff and overall just to my death so many times it's pathetic.

Oh, and Raphael Sbarge is the voice of what I assume to be the female love interest. Again. It doesn't hurt that his character model is sort of half-swarthy, half-caveman. Like a clean shaven caveman. I think that means Bioware is listening to fan feedback and is drifting away from female love interests that are weeping, boybander wuss-bags. (Anomen has got to be one of the most annoying people, ever.) It's also fun to hear reoccuring voice talent. We've got Sbarge, we've got Jennifer Hale as a fem Shepard and she sounds like a total hardass, which is awesome. There's even Seth Green playing Joker. I have a feeling Joker's sort of like an onboard tutorial/info-dump, maybe even a universal conscience, but so far I find him more interesting than some of the other characters.
