Cheshire watched Cher, trying not to smile as his eyes followed the girl around the store. He slipped silently away from the rack he had been at, following Cher. "I think that purple jacket would look great on you," he said softly into her ear as he leaned over her shoulder.

Cher nearly jumped out of her skin when Cheshire leaned over her shoulder like that. Soft voice or no! She gasped and jumped sideways a step. "Ugh, do you have to sneak up on people like that?!" she whined.

She did like that purple jacket, though.

"Mmm, sorry, but it's what I do," he said, giving her a charming smile. "And the jacket would look good on you...but I have a feeling, so would most anythig."

Cher blushed, clearly not accustomed to such open flattery. And this guy's cat costume was really convincing. Creepy. "Um, thanks," she mumbled, turning her attention back to the jacket. "It's a little longer than I'd like, but the cropped ones aren't in style here, I guess."

Cheshire took a moment to admire the blush before nodding. "Yes, they do seem more geared towards a view at the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries with a nod towards industrilizam," he said, examining the jacket, the Cher.

"But, your body does lend itself to working well with the style, very lean and long, the outfits lines would flow nicely on your body rather then on someone shorter or heavier. Though, you could use a few more curves to really set it off."

Cher was, in spite of herself, impressed with his clothing knowledge. That sounded like something she might pull out of her ass because it sounded good without knowing how true it really was. "Some people say it's close to 'steampunk' -- I've never heard that term before."

And then -- did he just insult her figure? First it seemed like he was complimenting her, but then he pretty much said she wasn't curvy enough. "Hellooo~, my curves are just fine the way they are, thank you very much!" Still, she jutted her chest out slightly as she snorted derisively at him.

Cheshire had to remind himself that he was not a kitten, and not going to stare at her chest no matter how much she pushed it out.

Even if it was a very nice chest.

"That they are, I just meant for the style of clothing, having a bit more...hips, would really do wonders, but trust me, you're not lacking for anything." he gave her a fanged grin, doing his best to remember where her eyes were.

Cher nodded, mollified by that explanation. She smoothed her white shirt and plaid miniskirt, more out of sudden nervousness than it needing smoothing. She took the purple coat and added it to the couple garments already hanging over her right arm. She glanced back at Cheshire. "Are you always dressed like a cat?" she asked him bluntly.

Cheshire blinked at her, trying to figure out what she meant before pouting. "I am a cat, it's not a costume," he said, a bit huffily.

Cher barely managed not to snicker out loud. This guy was crazy! "Uh... I hate to break it to you? But you're not a cat. Cats can't talk. And they're... you know. Little."

"It's called magic, genius," Cheshire said, offeded. He then turned away from her, pulling his shirt over his head so she could see the small of his back. Just above the curve of his ass, where his spine curved to meet his tailbone, was the base of his long purple and magneta tail, obviously growing out of the flesh, which curled around it.

"Need more proof, princess?"

Ewww, was he getting naked right here in the store??? Cher was about to turn away in disgust but then realized he was merely showing off his 'tail.' She had to admit, it looked pretty real. "Did you like... have that surgically added somehow?" Her tone was more curious than mocking; she genuinely couldn't comprehend that someone who walked and talked like a human could actually be not human.

"No, Cher," he said, pulling his shirt back on. His tail came up, wrapping lightly around her arm, the tip flickering over her hand as if petting her. "If I was a human with a mere surgery, I wouldn't be able to move the tail, you don't have the right muscles there."

Cher jumped again when the tail touched her skin. "Ewww, get that thing off me!" she cried, repulsed. So Cheshire was... a human cat. Not a human pretending to be a cat. That made him more of a freak in her mind, naturally, but at least he wasn't pretending to be something he wasn't.

Still...that tail was creepy.

"It's just a tail, flesh and fur...haven't you ever owned a cat?" Cheshire asked with a smile, his tail returning to it's normal position behind him.

"Nope," replied Cher. "We had a dog when I was little, but it died." Her gaze shifted up to Cheshire's face. He had beautiful eyes a striking shade of violet -- she had assumed he wore those contact lenses that change the color of your eyes, but now she wondered. "Is that your natural eye color?" she asked him curiously. And his fur... she'd never seen a magenta cat before. Did he dye himself?
