ALSO, the previews. The previews!! THE A/G, GOD. I actually don't remember much else about it that I had meant to comment on, but ALSO MERLIN KISSING SOMEONE. WHO ISN'T ARTHUR. WHUT. D:
In general I kept being surprised by Arthur; maybe it's all the A/M slash I've read but it seems like Arthur and Merlin were once-upon-a-time friends and in this episode Arthur was a bit less caring - example, when Merlin is about to cry. MAYBE IT WAS JUST CEDRIC, IDK. I WOULD LIKE TO THINK SO. :(
Also, not related to Merlin: have you ever wondered about why they tell you to get plenty of fluids when you're sick? Fluids. Not liquids. Fluids - which means not only liquids, but gases. "Oh, and Johnny, get plenty of fluids - you know how you forget to breathe sometimes when you're sick."

- LOTS OF SHIRTLESS ARTHUR IN THIS EP, WHUT. They were very generous with this, yes? ESPECIALLY IN THE OPENING SCENE WHERE HE YELLS FOR MERLIN - SHIRTLESSLY - IN BED, AND THEN WHEN MERLIN COMES IN HE'S LIKE *STRETCH* "OMG SRY I'M NOT WEARING A SHIRT. LOL." XD
- Why was Uther excavating underneath Camelot in the first place? Maybe he wasn't necessarily looking for treasure, but the line "so there is treasure under Camelot after all" reeks of "YESH ALL MINE, I KNEW EET." V. GREEDY, UTHER.
- Cedric is a big shit. I LOATHE HIM AND HIS MOUSTACHE.
- LOL random nerd!thoughts throughout the ep: when Gaius tells Merlin about how Sigan defeated death itself, I thought of the sorcerer's stone. When they found out the gem was really Sigan's soul I thought of horcruxes. When Dragon breathed on Merlin's face ("Oh god rotting sheep") I was reminded of how Aslan breathes on the children's faces. LOL.
- Omg, when Arthur tells Merlin to leave the stable, MERLIN LOOKS TRULY HURT, SRSLY like he was about to cry. D: ARTHUR ARE YOU SO COLD, REALLY?
- "Everything I do is for him." IF THAT'S NOT LOVE, IDK WHAT IS. AGAIN: ARTHUR, ARE YOU SO COLD?
- ARTHUR/GWEN NEEDS TO JUST STOP. Once upon a time I thought, well, they're kind of nice, but only in THEORY, apparently I kind of vomit in my mouth when I actually SEE it. Especially the way Arthur's like "my pleasure" when Gwen knocks him down/is on top of him; it would've been a lot more appropriate if there was even a scrap of A/G in S1. IT'S COMPLETELY OUT OF LEFT FIELD. ALSO I'M PRETTY SURE MORGANA DOES NOT APPROVE.
- I WAS KINDA SAD WHEN I THOUGHT MERLIN WAS TURNING EVIL, BUT ACTUALLY MORE EXCITED, I THINK. IS THIS BETRAYAL? D:
