Something we need to do...
Beloved Monster and I went to Springfield this weekend. We heard something we should have heard four months ago. Our friend, TC Artis had passed away in May. He was only 51. He died from complications related to diabetes.
Tom was a comic book artist. He worked for Marvel and DC and he was a good guy. Back when we were starting out and I had not yet realized that I couldn't make a living in radio, he would call me up, I would do the driving. He would pay for my gas and lunch. When he had a paying contract, he would employ the leatherworking skills of the Beloved Monster to build knife scabbards. 20 bucks was a big deal to us back then.
Tom paid it forward.
Unfortunately, the lifestyle of an artist isn't an easy one. He married late in life and has two kids and a wife that are struggling hard just to keep it together. The house he grew up in currently isn't inhabitable. His widow needs help.
So, I am going to ask this.
