Huh

Last night's Life on Mars was interesting. Thinking about it, I see how much it mirrors society today. Liberal, anti-war hippies vs. the 'traditionalist' Americans, who believe fighting for democracy is a good thing etc. etc. The entire episode was a great flashback to how things were in the '70s and it's kind of scary to think that things are still the same 35 years later. There are still narrow-minded people (they'll exist beyond the sands of time), hate crimes, hawks vs. doves, anti-war vs. pro-war (guess that goes with hawks vs. doves), liberals vs. conservative etc. etc.

I'm so sick and tired of labelling. I'm tired of labelling myself as liberal, Democrat, pro-choice, whatever and on goes the list. I'm tired of being categorized as one and I'm tired of categorizing others as a certain way. It's obvious people CAN get along despite political and personal differences. People can live civilly even if they disagree or dislike certain aspects of another person. So why is this election turning everyone into stark raving mad idiots who are shouting off about things they only pretend to understand?

UGH. There I go labelling again. I'm so sick of this and as much as I wish it will end after Nov. 4, it won't.

Oh and yesterday I felt sorry for a woman who apparently was mugged and then cut by her assailant when he realised she was a McCain supporter. He apparently carved a "B" into her face for Barack Obama. I come in to work today to find that she made it up. WHY?!

UGH. Have people's brains melted under the overexposure to election coverage? YES, that must be it!

PS: Life on Mars is awesome. Thursday night TV watching is great: The Office and LoM. Hurrah!
