Roland Garros Day 3

May 29, 2007 21:53

So I am very happy at the results of Day 3. Well, a bit disappointed in some sits but mostly, I'm very happy.

-Andy Roddick lost to Igor Andreev. See, I've never been much of a Roddick fan but lately, I've accepted the fact that yes, he is a nice guy (off-court). But on court, he's still a great big obnoxious arse who really, really, really gets on my nerves and honestly, he brings his losses on himself. Andreev had some bad moments as well but he never really looked as upset or tight as Roddick. And I really think that's what makes a good player: He or she has to have fun while also aiming to win. Roddick just wants to win, that's why he gets pissed off when he screws up a forehand and then messes up his mental concentration.

That's my theory anyway.

-James Blake lost to Ivo Karlovic (CRO). Well, I kind of saw that coming, mainly because even though Blake is a really good player, he has the same problem as Roddick. He gets easily upset on court, which really messes him up.

-Amer Delic lost to J.C. Ferrero. HAHAHAHA. Eat that, Johnny Mac. You said if Delic wins the first set (which he did), Ferrero will probably not be able to get back in the game and win the match. Guess you were proved wrong. HAHAHAHA.

-Gimelstob lost to Almagro. Like i didn't see that coming.

Okay, I'll stop with the tennis talk. I'm very happy with most of the results. I'm a bit baffled that Lleyton Hewitt (AUS) beat Max Mirnyi of Belarus in easy straight sets. Unbelievable. It made me a bit sad that Hewitt didn't seem to regard Mirnyi that much, considering they were once doubles partners and won a doubles Grand Slam title.
Gael Monfils and Richard Gasquet, home favourites ('cos they're French) won, which I'm happy about. And of course, Rafael Nadal won as well, so hurrah hurrah.

I'm very happy. I think coverage will be a bit better, although I doubt Johnny Mac or Ted Robinson will shut up.

Oh well. You can't have everything.
