Wimbledon Day 6 and Middle Sunday

Jun 29, 2008 21:16

Not much to report from yesterday's matches except that Dinara Safina lost and I was sad :( Rafa won...a meh match. The best IMO was Youzhny beating Stepanek in what should have been four sets. But NO it has to go to five. I'm just glad the Youzh pulled it out in the end. And then the other tall handsome Croat Marin Cilic beat Paul-Henri Mathieu (my earlier suicide pool pick) in four. Even though yesterday was lacklustre, I am SUPER excited for tomorrow. And abso-bloody-lutely nervous. First, it's Safin playing Wawrinka. Stan the Man's had a good season so far and Safin has won three matches back-to-back in god knows how long. So...either Safin could make me even happier than I already am and win or he could suffer a mental implosion and lose.

I hope it's the former.

Then it's Cilic vs. Clement. I wouldn't normally be nervous about this, but gosh darn it, with suicide pool on the line, everything has to get extra frazzling. CMON MARIN! Keep the Croat pride running!

And every other match I'm on edge about but I really am focused on the Safin and Cilic matches.

In any case, Day 7 should be fantastic. Middle Sunday has been all right (no matches) but I got to see the end of the Euro 2008 footie match. VAMOS ESPANA! Rafa and his fellow Spanish tennis players must all be over the moon. Good motivation to get to the final of Wimbledon once more, Rafa? Hope so! Best part about the Euro match was seeing Casillas still keeping goal for Spain. Last I saw him was in '02 (I'm a sporadic footie watcher). The man is gorgeous.

Anyway. Doctor Who this week was...OK. Not the best in what has otherwise been a fantastic season in my opinion. But next week's the finale and I guess I shall decided yea or nay for these eps. But two things won't stop even when the season ends: Donna will remain fantastic and so will the Tenth Doctor.

And now I'm off. Good Sunday night and VIVA TENNIS!
