Et alors

I've been humming "La Vie En Rose" all day, after seeing Marion Cotillard win the Oscar ten times today. Thanks to CNN, Oscar recaps were constant throughout the day. Not that I mind, especially since I love the awards show and didn't get a chance to watch it last night. I was very pleased with the winners. And HA it was a European takeover. Mwahahaha.

I'm awful. I know.

I had an eventful weekend...a spontaneous one, you might say. My cousin called me randomly last week to say he was in my town for work related stuff and we were going to see his brother during the weekend. Erm. OK. Thanks for the advance notice. I guess that's why they call these things "surprises." I had a great time though. I'd been meaning to go down and visit my cousin sometime soon anyway, so it worked out. And it was fantastic to go somewhere and relax. It was almost like going home, which was a nice feeling. I miss home. I need to go home sometime soon.

I ate out too much this weekend. Thursday night onwards...the only home food I ate was yogurt rice the night I returned to my town. My stomach hates me for treating it so badly with the overload of not-home food. I have been "detoxing" today by eating healthy-ish and not gorging myself. It's new for me, really. It's really bad. I either gorge myself or I eat very, very lightly/don't eat well. The last time I ate really well at each meal was last summer, when my aunt and uncle were visiting. My aunt cooked a proper South Indian meal every single day and boy did she make us eat. But the thing was, it was healthy, filling and timely. When I was at college and now here, I do eat on time, but my meals aren't, well, fully balanced, I suppose. Not good. I make sure I eat veggies and carbs and fruits and all that, but I need to eat properly. Really properly. ARGH to laziness. I was doing so well when I first moved out here. Winter, proximity to work, and general laziness makes me not cook a proper meal. BLAH.

Enough of the whining. Ooh I finished Extras: Season Two this weekend. I love Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Geniuses, I tell you. And I cannot wait for the Xmas special to come out so I can rent that as well. I don't know what I'd do with British comedy/TV in general. I'm not saying all their shows are good, but the bulk of what I've seen are so well done. And The Office and Extras are prime examples of really good television. Gervais and Merchant FTW!!!

Umm what else? It's been a lovely day today. I was so sleepy when I came home (I was at work at 6 a.m.). I was ready to take a nap but it was so sunny and gorgeous. I hate taking naps when it's so nice out but Sundays and Mondays I'm usually so dead sleepy after an early morning. But today I forced myself to go out for a walk and it was fantastic. The sun was shining, the skies were blue and there was a promise of spring. I walked a good fifteen minutes or so. I need to do it more often because honestly, it's the only exercise I enjoy. Back at uni I used to walk everywhere so going to work out wasn't on the top of my list. Walking was a good amount of exercise. Now I just sit on my bottom and do nothing. Especially this winter (which I'm thoroughly sick of). I do go to yoga class, which incidentally has been cancelled due to lack of people signing up. So no yoga class for the next six weeks. BLAH. I cannot wait for spring. I have never hated winter as much as I have this year. Funnily enough, last time I hated winter so much was in '97, the last time I was in the East Coast. Hmm. Maybe it's just the East Coast that makes me hate winter so much. I didn't  complain this much when I was at uni and for heaven's sake, I used to walk everywhere then! Well in any case, I'm sick and tired of winter and cannot wait for spring. I'm counting down the days.

This post has gone on long enough. Congrats to "No Country for Old Men" winning last night. Javier Bardem looked very good. So did George Clooney, who I have a huge crush on right now (Thank you "Ocean's Eleven"). I have to watch "There Will Be Blood" and "Michael Clayton" next.

I'm off!
