You don't get a whole heck of a lot of money back, but when you just want to get rid of things it's nice to get something back. I'm averaging about $15-$25 for two reusable shopping bags filled with books and magazines, though it all varies depending on what you're selling.
We have one down the street from me, so if you're interested and there's not one near you maybe we can work something out. :)

Do they take used textbooks too? If not, they might just be donated to the library - if the library will have any use for them at all LOL.

They do take textbooks, but I'm told you don't get much for them. I do see people buying them there, though (and I keep an eye out on the law section, which every once in a while has one of our books).

I don't mind them not paying much for textbooks. These are 3+ years old so they probably will get a penny or something. I don't mind, as long as I can just give them to someone who might have better use for it :D
Ooh and good call on checking them out for law books. Hmmm...will have to do that next time.

My only stipulation is that said book has to be in English (or, in a pinch, Tamil). If it's a book in French or something, I can guarantee my one poor brain cell won't be up to it.
