Everyone has been in a rut. Have you gotten yourself out of a rut? Tell me about it.
Many of the people who read this journal have dealt with depression. What have you done to help yourself in times of depression?
I still hold true that advice is what you ask for when you know the answer and wish you didn't. But that's not true for every case, I'm learning, and I'm actually questioning the wisdom behind the whole maxim; it's beginning to seem a little arrogant. We don't have all the answers. Nobody does. In any case, I honestly don't know what to do to honestly get myself out of this, so I'm asking some wise people.
ETA: I realize I'm asking the impossible here. There's a reason people kill themselves from depression; if simply taking good advice were all that it took that wouldn't happen. But I'm asking anyway. And people do shake themselves out of ruts, this I know, so that question may be easier to be answer (heh, but it's hard to do those get-out-of-rut things when you're, ya know, depressed!).
