I went to the fireworks show on both the 22nd, which was Canada, and 25th, which was South Africa. It was a lot of fun! I can't pick which performance I like more, but it's leaning towards South Africa.. Only because, I think, their show was a lot more expanded and a lot larger than Canada's. I mean, Canada's had a lot better timing and such, but their show looked as if it were held in between two lines, as if it were boxed in. Didn't like that idea. But South Africa! Now that was amazing.
I guess, when depending on what you're rating them on, they both have their highlights. Canada had it's technicallity spot on! Everything went on without a hitch, while South Africa, although not perfectly timed and mildly repetitive, looked spectacular with it's fantastic display of "use of space," thusly being pleasing to the eyes.
For the first show, we arrived at English Bay at around five or six. I went with Sierra, Reece, and Lawrence. We had fun, and played with a dollar store soccer ball in the water. That is, until Reece supersplashed me and I got upset and went back to the beach to sulk. I sulked for about a half-hour to forty-five minutes on the blanket and towels. Then I wrote stuff down, got changed, and was sort of depressed for the following hour or two. When it became dark, the sulkiness went away and I started to cheer up. Fireworks happened, packed up about five minutes before the show ended. Despite that, we still got caught up in the flood of people leaving.
For the second show, we got there late. Much late. It was almost nine, I think. Oh! And there was a thunder storm! It was really cool and pretty to watch the setting sun from the beach with crimson-colored cloud-coated skies and the bolts of lightning shoot out across the sky while it rained. It just looked really cool, and felt sort of surreal. For this show, I went with Sierra, Reece, and Lawrence again. But this time, Travis came! He was late (by a lot, too!), but at least he came in time for the fireworks to start.
After the show, we were planning to go to a Taco Bell (if I remember correctly) in Port Moody, but they were closed. Then we were going to go to A&W, but they had just closed. Luckily, they had a 24hour drive through, so we went through that, made a mess of an order, and were eventually all paid for by Lawrence (the stupid rich kid!). After we all finished eating, Lawrence allowed us to drive his car in the empty parking lot! I think I was pretty good for a first time... I mean, I was better than when Sierra first tried it. I kind of went crazy at the end, though, and drove like my dad (which is reckless and crazy).
It was pretty cool, though. The whole idea, I mean. Who would let crazy teens drive their car in an empty parking lot at two in the morning? Lawrence, that's who xD
Ended up sleeping over at Sierra and Reece's place with Travis, then went home the next afternoon to an almost empty house (you can consider it empty 'cause my dad was sleeping and Mama+Yeye were out shopping).
Ooh, the topic of summer school? It is not going along so well. At least I'm passing, though. With a 51.6%, might I add! Basically, for our latest test, Ms. Bankonin lowered the total marks to raise our grades. I would've failed if she hadn't. I passed with a 50. Ooh, lucky me. I have another test tomorrow, and then a final exam this Friday, then the provincial in August. Thisthis I don't likelike. Not at allall. Hm. I should go do my homework, shouldn't I? Dx -hasn't done it yet, and has 30+ questions-
I'm sorry! I've failed! I've succumbed to a lot of manga reading lately! Instead of studying and doing homework (which I really should be doing, considering I'm practically failing), I'm reading manga. Last night, I finished Doubt, and also SOLD OUT!, which I did not like very much. I tried reading H20, but it was too slow and crappy. Also, I almost gave up on Doubt 'cause it was too slow at the beginning, but thank god I stayed with it! Scared me half to death, that one did, and also let me write the story
My Sweet Death the other night because I was to afraid to go to sleep.
Also, video games have been taking over some spare time. What game? Lux-Pain, which is now suddenly strangely addictive.
I've found my life, at the moment, to be filled with video games, reading The Phantom of the Opera, reading manga, and homework (sometimes). There's also the time spent where I freak out because I think I'm going to die suddenly. The reason for this, though... let's say there isn't one.
Whyyyy am I sooo crazzzzyyyy? ;____; Not a good thing, right?
