1. Scumspawn is nowhere near as stupid as people think he is, he just has to take a run up at new ideas, consider them for a while. He's very old afterall, it takes a while for his mind to work out all the possibilities. Like being in love with Satan. He'd been contemplating it for several thousand years before he said a word to the Professor or Thomas. Thoughts move in Scumspawn's brain like the drift of continents, but he's not stupid, he's just very thorough
