I've just finished the first chapter of Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay...
Oh My Gods!
It is fantastic. After I've finished it I have to actually buy a copy (this one's borrowed from the library) and pimp it to everyone I know. If you haven't read it yet, do.
It is so darkly poetic. So beautiful and so disturbed all at once... Let me quote you the first paragraph...
"Moon. Glorious Moon. Full, fat, reddish moon, the night as day, the moonlight flooding down across the land and bringing joy, joy, joy. Bringing too the full-throated call of the tropical night, the soft and wild voice of the wind roaring through the hairs on your arm, the hollow wail of starlight, the teeth-grinding bellow of the moonlight off the water."
Just Guh! Seriously, you NEED to read this book!
