What was the first song you ever heard by 6? I think it was "Misery Business," and I don't even remember how or when I heard it. I think I may have been aware of them as a band before that, during the All We Know Is Falling days, but I never paid any attention to them then.
Whats your favorite song by 8? It might be "Sic Transit Gloria (Glory Fades)" because it has this really sexy beat that is paired in such an interesting way with the context of the song (the song itself being about a boy experiencing his first sexual encounter, nearly being forced into it, and not enjoying it at all). I do also enjoy "The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows" because it has this great call and answer during the chorus. Brand New is a great band.
What kind of impact has 1 left on your life? Honestly Avenged Sevenfold has made an amazing impact on my life in the short time they've been in it. They've made me a more confident person and have given me ways to help alleviate my fears in life. They inspire me to say 'fuck what everyone thinks' and to do my best without worrying about being judged. They've also strengthened two of my closest friendships, and for that I'm very thankful.
When did you start listening to 4? Freshman year of high school. It's strange, because I thought I got into them later, as most of my other 'rock' bands didn't settle in until I was a sophomore or junior, but I distinctly remember using one of their songs for a project in my English 1 class. Jeez, that means it's been ten years!
How many times have you seen 5 live? Just once, the day before my birthday in 2009 with my friend/coworker Paul, though I sort of listened from a distance at Warped Tour one year (so far away we couldn't even make out people on the stage). They are TERRIFIC, though, oh man. They really know how to put on a show.
What is your favourite song by 7? It might be "Cemetery" ... or "Do Better." There's something very honest, even if not in an outright way, about those two songs that's very attractive to me.
Is there any song by 3 that makes you sad? I get a little weepy when I hear "Northern Downpour" sometimes. It's mostly because of how Brendon dedicated it to the fans at their Bowery Ballroom show this year and then cried during it. It was nice to see that he was touched, too. And it makes me miss Ryan and Jon.
What is your favorite song by 9? "Bob Dylan's 115th Nightmare" because it was the perfect angry song for me when I got friendship-dumped. I also enjoy "Try To Understand" because it's so danceable, and "Rock N' Roll, Pt 1" because it's just so awesomely dirty rock.
How did you get into 2? My senior year of high school (2004-2005) I somehow heard "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" and I just remember thinking how interesting it was. They were loud and they played hard and admittedly it was a little much for me, but they were singing about feeling like shit and I was drawn to it. They were starting to be talked about, too; I remember a friend and another girl discussing them in English class early one morning - the other girl claimed to like their first album better, and I remember feeling inferior because I didn't know anything about the first album. It took me a long time to get as into MCR as I am now ... about five years, actually. Danger Days is what made me realize they're a band that's worth more than a casual listen here and there. I'd been intimidated by them for a long time, and intimidated by their fanbase because I didn't think I was cool or tough enough or punk enough to listen to them. However I did always feel this burning sense of inspiration whenever I listened to them, and I always knew that there was something special there.
What is your favorite song by 4? "The World You Love." There is something about this song that just ... I can't describe. I feel like the music plays right into my heart.
How many times have you seen 9 live? Just once! It was a $10 show in a bowling alley and it was awesome.
What is a good memory concerning 10? I have a lot of good memories about Fall Out Boy. Driving around town at lunchtime with my friends in high school, taking road trips to see them live with my former best friend. Seeing them in Las Vegas with said friend and two of my buddies (♥). Fall Out Boy is representative of a good chunk of my life.
Is there a song by 8 that makes you sad? Not particularly? There are some songs that have a sad story or are very nostalgic, but none that outright make me sad.
What is your favorite song of 1? Ohhh, it changes constantly. I latch onto one song for a while, then move to another, because they're all just so badass. Right now it might be "God Hates Us," but I also love "Buried Alive" and of course, "Fiction." This isn't to say that I only love songs from Nightmare, because that would be silly. I will say that the first time I heard "Gunslinger" I broke out in chills. That first "YEAAAAAH" when it kicks in, guh.
