I was wondering whether they were intentional, as well. I don't know! And I don't know how I would feel about it if they were.
I don't think I'm known for focusing on plot a lot, so when I recognise plot holes, I tend to assume they really must be glaring. ;-) I'm much happier focusing on characters, too. :D
(And in other news, LJ still has not fixed comment notifications, it seems. Grrr, argh!)
Actually, the oddest thing about last night's episode for me was I really couldn't place what the smilies function was, except to be the token spookies...? Oh good, me too!
Yeah, I'm just trying to watch it as a completely different show. And it's odd, because I usually enjoy references to earlier episodes and the like, but right now, I wish they stopped with all the citations from the past because... well, it still is the same show, but also not?
I think the Smilies were supposed to be some kind of automated surveillance staff (police state and all), but it didn't come across very well.
Notifications work for comments I receive at other people's journals, just not on my own! Boo.
