Ow.

Gravity is weighing my heart down.

It has been struck by the cold eyes of disillusionment.

That disconcerned shrug.
Knowing sigh.

I know it all too well.

What was I expecting?
Moreover, What were you expecting?

I can't believe I've disappointed you already.

I strolled across the glass floor, casually, skipping like a child.
"Skip, two, three, four"; humming a song to the beat.
"Skip, two, three", *slip*
The ruby red shoe slipped on a penny...an insignificant little penny.
The child gasped as she lost her balance; and fell through the frail glass,shattering it to pieces.
Reaching out, all she could grasp was cold air.

The poorly crafted dream fell apart in my hands.
The cruel slap of reality tumbled the pieces away, as they faded in the wind.

Its funny how age doesn't necessarily mean that the mind will create a mental block towards child naivety.
